Does Spyral file my annual accounts for me?
No. Spyral prepares everything and produces the filing package and the eCDF file. You submit them. A cycle marked "Ready for LBR" is ready for you to file, not already filed.
When is a cycle considered filed?
When you download the filing package. There is no separate action, and downloading is what records it.
Why can I not find Annual Accounts in the menu?
It is not a menu item. Annual accounts belong to a company, so you reach them through Companies, then the company, then its Finance tab.
Can I correct a document Spyral has classified wrongly?
Not yourself, at the moment. Send it to us with the correct type.
Why does my June year end company show FY 2026?
Fiscal years are named after the calendar year they end in. A year running July 2025 to June 2026 is FY 2026.
Why does the Library search not find text inside my documents?
That box searches filenames. To search what is inside documents, use the assistant. See Asking a good question.
Do I have to enter a code every time I sign in?
Yes. There is no trusted device option. An authenticator app is faster than waiting for an emailed code.
What happens if I lose my authenticator phone?
There are no backup codes, so contact your firm's Spyral administrator or contact us to have it reset.
Can one account work for two firms?
No. An account belongs to a single firm permanently. Working with two firms means two accounts on two email addresses.
Where is our data held?
In the EU. See Your data and where it is hosted.
Can Spyral read a scanned document?
Yes. If a PDF has no text layer, Spyral reads it with OCR automatically. Scans take longer to process than native PDFs, and a poor quality scan produces a poorer result.
Why did a document upload without producing any journal entries?
Most often because it was not classified as a financial document, or because automatic bookkeeping is switched off for that company. See How journal entries get created.
Does Spyral give tax or accounting advice?
No. It carries out the work you direct and flags what needs attention. Professional judgement stays with your firm.
